Factor bikes was born from a company called bf1 systems, a market leading provider of electrical, electronic and composite solutions to the Motorsport, Automotive, Aerospace and Marine Industries. Some of their products are featured on championship winning vehicles in all top level motorsport disciplines including F1, Indycar, NASCAR, World Rally, Touring Cars, Rally Raid, Le Mans and Moto GP, if that wasn’t enough, luxury car manufacturers such as Lamborghini, Pagani and Aston Martin all use their products and solutions in one way or another.

In 2007, they announced a radical new approach to the humble bicycle. Two years later they came up with the Factor001, a super contemporary design with advanced electronics “featuring over 100 channels of biometric data, hydraulic disc brakes, integrated LiPo battery powering the computer, sensors and the Di2 system.” Unfortunately, not everything made it into the production model, ‘Vis Vires’ although, it’s still one of the most aggressive looking frames currently available.

We spotted a couple of these at the top of Box Hill in Surrey, not a bad location to get some exposure for a frameset that starts at an eye watering £5,999 – They’ve set their clientele firmly at investment bankers, lottery winners and drug lords.
