Spin London was started in a East London basement back in 2013 by a small but passionate group of friends wanting to celebrate the culture and passion of cycling. It’s come a long way since then, growing larger and more popular each year. Moving from Brick Lane’s old Truman brewery, this year’s event was located to a much larger and centrally located venue.

The combined 70,000 sq ft ground floor and basement are raw, gritty spaces that really fired the imagination and were the perfect backdrop for a large scale celebration of cycling. With the facility to ride and race bikes as well as multiple spaces to explore, Spin LDN 2015 was our most ambitious event yet.

We visited the event on the Friday evening and found a great bustling atmosphere full of friendly cycling folks, eager to explore and chat to the many exhibitors on show.

There was a great mix of independent clothing and accessories companies like Route clothing with larger bike brands like Canyon, displaying their new range of commuter bikes. New for 2015, a huge underground test track where visitors could try out the many bikes on offer, even crazy custom choppers (which looked redicilously hard to sty upright) were available to test out.

Some interesting bike concepts were also on display, Activetainment allowed visitors to try out their new VR exercise bikes (with an oculus rift!) and Rollapaluza roller racing.  There were also great coffee, food, beer and DJ’s providing refreshments and entertainment a great backdrop to the bustle of the bike obsessed crowds.

Overall, it was a fantastic event and we look forward to what the Spin team brings together next year!
