In what most people are calling ‘the most exciting Giro in history’, 2016 was a good year for the Giro d’Italia. There’s far too much excitement to talk about here, but a special mention goes out to the monumental efforts from Orica GreenEdge and Esteban Chaves.

They’ve fast become one our favourite teams in the peloton. The Backstage Pass series on their popular YouTube channel gives a great insight into the team – showing the high and lows, the passion, and the humour that makes the Australian team so personable and also successful.

The 2016 edition of the Giro d’Italia was a huge monument for the team, with Esteban Chaves achieving second in the GC overall – one of his biggest achievements so far. In a highly emotionally charged and exciting race, Orica GreenEdge’s ‘Backstage Pass’ was there to document it all. The final episode shows the team celebrating with Chaves, his family and the fans. You can’t help but like the young Columbian, and we’re sure to see lots more from him with the team in upcoming races.
